Afyon Kocatepe University (AKÜ) Veterinary Health Application and Research Center Directorate and Construction Department Presidency, the project approval process, which will gain the feature of a modern animal hospital in the region, has been examined and worked on for a long time. With the contributions of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Dean, AKÜ Rectorate and our provincial deputies, our project has been included in the 2020 investment scope.
In the project, which is completely original and designed to provide answers to the age, one of the most important innovations is the storage of patients with disease questions (From Animal > Animal – From Animal > Human) and sections of treatment units of other patients. In this context, the relevant departmental examinations and treatments will be carried out by expert faculty members in non-sterile, semi-sterile and sterile areas. Our hospital provides services in the field of veterinary medicine with rich technological compatible imaging units (X-Ray, USG, Tomography, Endoscopy, ECG etc.), laboratory devices, fully equipped operation rooms, intensive care units, hospitalization units and diagnosis and treatment departments in service centers.
In addition, the amount of economic losses of farm workers in our region has been extended in recent years, and the examination, diagnosis and medical treatment in terms of “Calf Health”, which has gained importance, has been determined as a separate unit.
With the opening of our new hospital, our current building will continue its service applications as an “Emergency” unit with separate intervention units for different animal species. In addition, support will be provided for the treatment of stray animals referred to the hospital by the Afyonkarahisar Municipality, and a separate unit will be created.
The construction of our new hospital will begin in 2020 and it is planned to be put into service in 2022.
